Owen Phoenix in action (Part Two)

The fight continues with Ali getting back into a series of weakeners

Phoenix unleashes his  power in the air. And starts to turn the tide

But Ali counters. The slams are taking their toll on Owen.

Owen goes off the ropes again. This time outside the ring. Its clear he has hurt Ali

But to Owen's amazement Ali is up on the two count - just

Owen Phoenix in action (Part One)

The first is a series of blogs to cover a great 4FW fight. Owen Phoenix takes on the reigning junior heavyweight champ Benham Ali aka The Sheik.

At 180lbs Owen is now starting to look the junior heavyweight.

But the Sheik is no mean 190lb beast.

The Sheik is early to attack. His aim is clear. He needs to slow Phoenix.

And to slow him down he will stop at nothing. Ali corners Owen and chokes him with the flag.

To be continued...!

The Transformers : five of the best

We all know that wrestling shows are entertainment. What has changed is the wrestlers. They work hard to put on the best shows. And modern wrestlers work hard in the gym. Here are five of my favourite transformations in wrestlers. In reverse order - so guess who wins?! These are guys who put in the hours of work that this takes. I salute them as athletes.

 5th. Owen Phoenix

                        From this...                                               To this...

4th. Jarek120

In 2011, its fair to say that Jarek120 was showing the pounds, Some early youtube fights come with that caution. But the man has put in some shifts. He uses the PX90 programme and the results are stunning - whatever way you look at it

3rd. Chris Cross

Boy...                                                                                                     To man...

2nd Zack Sabre Jnr

Zack has been around a while and its easy to forget the work he puts in. Gym and skill development, coupled with learning the craft in Japan make him a really great transformer

From this - very junior!

To this...

1st. Prince Devitt

The most amazing transformation of them all. Sheer hard work - earning the respect of many. including his home gym in Bray, Ireland, Now a heavyweight contender and challenger. Yet as ripped as its possible to be. Top transformer!

To the pinnacle that is...

And the future stars could be...

In football style. An assessment of those not in the top five and a review of some of the challengers

Mark Angel

The guy is a model. He has taken his wrestling seriously, went a whole year in Beyond Wrestling without loss. But he doesn't always get taken seriously. He appears as an American footballer too often and the fight with the Turtle was silly.
Prospects: a good fighter, who has all the skills. If he can get the right matches then he could be a tip for the top.
Chris Cross

Made a spectacular early run - lots of hits on the blog. Then steady. Young and still building a reputation.

Prospects: A popular youngster, who has been wrestling for years and is training hard. His body development is impressive and he has decided to take bodybuilding as his career and retire from the ring and the 'rassle. Shame

Saint

Strangely, you all love Saint's stable mate, Drake. Saint is great in the No Rules downloads - his matches are well worth watching. He can take some hefty punishment but can also recover and hold his own. I suspect the pics may not show enough of his aggression and that he might look too much of a jobber for your taste?

Prospects: the mystery one! I will post some different pics and we will find out whether he sinks or swims.

Brodie Fisher

Another stable mate of a top man who loses out. He even has the benefit of sharing some posts with the ever popular Josh Steel, yet he still can't cut it with you in his own right.
Prospects: at best mid table, I think Brodie looks like he will have to learn to live in the shadow of the might Josh.
